How is the calculation done?
Buying a new-build property in Belgium combines several tax levies: VAT 21 % on the building, registration duties 3 % (Walloon or Flemish resident buyer) to 12.5 % (Brussels or non-resident) on the land share, degressive notary fees by scale, mortgage duties of 1 % for loans. Our tool figures the total envelope to set aside before the authentic deed using average coefficients drawn from 800 Walloon and Brussels transactions.
